Counting screw-ups, I’ve had to cast well over 200 parts for Scottie’s first release.
New sculpt I’m finishing today. Needs eyes, neck, and ears. (Kevin - He is 6 inches tall)
I am always working up to the very last minute. I just tell myself I am ambitious. I have been working on a process page and came across this picture of me finishing up resins (in my underwear) the night before we hung my last solo show in Chicago.
More progress
I don’t think my client (I feel like such an asshole saying ‘client’, but the official announcement hasn’t been made yet, sorry) will mind my sharing this process photo of the current resin I’m working on since I just started. I’m juggling three big collaborative projects right now, so that’s why it looks like I disappeared. I’ll have new clothes up for pre-order soon.
I didn’t think I was going to be able to keep this a secret much longer! Here is the first look at the prototype for my first big vinyl toy, Cody, produced by ExtendedPlayz (a BonusToyz label). He is roughly 9 inches tall. We have worked really hard on this figure and I can’t wait to share the final outcome with you guys. Ajee and Reeno have done an exceptional job producing this toy and I can’t thank them enough for their hard work and dedication to this project. Cody wouldn’t have been possible without them. For now this is a just a peek at what’s to come. Check back soon for more surprises!
Here’s a peek into some of the stages of production of Cody. See more at Vinyl Pulse.
You guys like sketches? The outlines for my larger graphite drawings go through around 10-15 different re-workings before being transferred to large bristol board and shaded into the final rendering. It takes forever! This is the one I’m currently working on between client projects. She’s still not finished, but I like how crazy the early ones look…
Proof that I’ve been working :)
Waiting on a mold to cure and sifting through old work so I can finally get a somewhat formal portfolio back together. Here are some sketches from 2008 and 2009 that won’t make the cut. Feels like a bad idea not presenting a formal body of work, considering this is my 6th year as a full-time artist. I still feel like such an asshole calling myself that.
